Los Angeles, CA – Southern California is under an urgent heat advisory today, as dangerously high temperatures are expected to affect vast regions, including the Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Temperatures could climb into the 90s and up to 103°F, with little relief overnight, putting residents at risk for heat-related illnesses.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. tonight. Residents in areas such as the Santa Clarita Valley, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego County Valleys should expect excessive heat, with temperatures peaking throughout the day. This includes major cities like Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Escondido.

The National Weather Service warns that sensitive populations—including children, the elderly, and those without air conditioning—are especially vulnerable. With high temperatures affecting outdoor activities, precautions such as drinking plenty of fluids, staying indoors, and checking on neighbors are critical. Limiting strenuous activities to the cooler early morning or evening hours is advised.

By late afternoon, the heat wave is expected to subside slightly, but the danger won’t fully lift until later this evening. Those working outside should take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments to reduce the risk of heatstroke. Emergency officials are advising to seek medical attention immediately if signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke appear.
