Memphis, TN – Eastern Tennessee is preparing for an extended period of high temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Residents are being urged to take precautions as a prolonged heat wave is expected to bring above-normal temperatures for the foreseeable future.
According to the NWS, the region will experience temperatures in the low 90s, with the heat pattern likely to persist through the first week of July. This forecast highlights the importance of staying hydrated and taking frequent breaks from the heat to avoid heat-related illnesses.
Meteorologists project that the daily highs will consistently remain above normal, with some days reaching as high as the mid to upper 90s. The current forecast for Memphis indicates that temperatures will range from 72 to 91 degrees today, with a clear sky and partly cloudy conditions expected in the morning.
Looking ahead, the weekend will see even higher temperatures, with Saturday reaching up to 96 degrees and Sunday seeing a slight chance of rain but still hitting a high of 92 degrees. The trend continues into next week, with Monday expected to be sunny and 90 degrees, and Tuesday and Wednesday both forecasted to hit the mid-90s.
