Charleston, WV – Southeastern Ohio and Northern West Virginia are preparing for potential isolated flooding this weekend. The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a warning that severe weather is expected to return Saturday, bringing an 80% chance of showers and storms.

According to the US National Weather Service, quiet weather will continue overnight and into Friday. Friday will see hot temperatures with a 30% chance of non-severe storms, primarily in the afternoon. However, conditions will intensify on Saturday, posing a slight risk for severe weather, especially in southeast Ohio and northern West Virginia.

The severe weather outlook for Saturday indicates a marginal to slight risk for these areas. Showers and storms will develop mainly in the PM hours, with temperatures ranging from 80 to 90 degrees in the lowlands and 70 to 80 degrees in the mountains. Isolated flooding is a concern due to the expected heavy rainfall and storm activity.
