Wyoming – Southeast Wyoming, including Laramie and Cheyenne, is under a Fire Weather Watch through Thursday, as breezy conditions and low humidity create a heightened fire risk. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that wind gusts could reach 40 mph, while relative humidity may drop as low as 14%.

The NWS has also issued a Red Flag Warning for Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. MDT for Carbon, Albany, and Platte counties. These conditions significantly increase the potential for wildfires, and residents are urged to avoid any activities that could spark a fire. Outdoor burning and campfires should be avoided as the fire danger remains critical through midweek.

According to the NWS, these conditions are expected to persist as a low-pressure system tracks across Montana, bringing dry air and strong winds to Wyoming. The combination of high temperatures in the 70s and strong wind gusts will create an environment ripe for fires to spread rapidly.
