Houston, Texas – Drivers across Southeast Texas will enjoy another warm, partly cloudy day Sunday as highs climb into the upper 80s, but a shift toward wetter weather is just around the corner.
According to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office, Sunday’s temperatures will remain near or slightly above seasonal averages, with highs ranging from 83°F in Galveston to 89°F in Livingston. Overnight lows are expected to stay mild, hovering between 68°F and 73°F across the region. Clouds will increase Monday and Tuesday ahead of midweek rain chances.
In Houston, Conroe, and College Station, morning commuters may notice more cloud cover developing early in the week. Rain chances build sharply by Wednesday, with a Marginal Risk of excessive rainfall (level 1 of 4) north of the Houston metro. Roads along I-45, I-10, and Highway 59 could see slick conditions during the day, especially near Huntsville and Crockett.
Residents are encouraged to avoid non-essential travel during any periods of heavy rain, ensure gutters are clear, and have devices fully charged in case of localized power outages. While rainfall amounts are still uncertain, lingering showers could extend into the weekend.
Warnings and updated advisories are expected by midweek as the rain threat intensifies.
