Houston, TX – Southeastern Texas remains in a heat wave, with high temperatures in the upper 90s forecasted through the weekend. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies with no rain expected, offering little relief from the scorching conditions.

According to the NWS, Houston will see highs reach 94°F by Friday. Galveston and surrounding areas will experience similar temperatures in the upper 80s to mid-90s, while nighttime lows will range from 74°F to 80°F.

The air quality is also a concern for Houston, Brazoria, and Galveston counties. An Ozone Action Day has been issued for Wednesday, warning residents to limit outdoor activity during peak hours. The high ozone levels may affect sensitive groups, including children and the elderly.

Southeast Texas residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and carpool to reduce emissions. Cooler temperatures are not expected in the foreseeable future.
