Philadelphia, PA – Commuters in southeastern Pennsylvania and neighboring regions should prepare for potentially hazardous travel Tuesday morning as a winter weather advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), mixed precipitation is expected, with up to one inch of snow and light ice accumulation possible. Freezing rain and icy conditions are likely, especially on bridges and overpasses, creating slick and dangerous roadways, including major routes like I-95.

Residents are urged to drive cautiously during the morning hours, allowing extra time for their commute and avoiding sudden braking. Those walking should also exercise care on icy sidewalks and driveways. NWS suggests staying informed of conditions by calling 511 or checking local updates.

The wintry mix will give way to mostly sunny skies by Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching a high of 39°F. Christmas Day promises pleasant weather for the region, with sunny skies and highs near 38°F. The rest of the week will remain cold but dry, with nighttime lows hovering in the mid-20s.

Looking ahead, southeastern Pennsylvania will see mostly sunny conditions through Saturday, with slightly warmer daytime highs near 40°F by Friday. However, precipitation could return late Saturday into Sunday.

Plan ahead for Tuesday morning, and stay weather-aware as conditions evolve.
