Boise, ID – Poor air quality remains a concern across southwest Idaho this weekend as an Air Stagnation Advisory continues through Sunday night. The advisory impacts Boise, nearby communities, and parts of southeast Oregon.
According to the National Weather Service, stagnant air and light winds are expected to persist, trapping pollutants close to the ground. Residents in affected areas, including those along the I-84 corridor, are advised to limit outdoor activities, particularly those with respiratory conditions.
The forecast for Boise calls for mostly sunny skies and calm winds, with temperatures reaching a high of 38 degrees on Sunday. Overnight lows will hover around 24 degrees. While the extended weather remains dry and stable, health officials urge reducing outdoor burning and unnecessary vehicle idling to help improve local air quality.
Looking ahead, Monday’s weather will bring continued sunshine with highs near 40 degrees, followed by similar conditions through midweek. Light winds and clear skies will dominate, but the advisory may be extended if stagnant conditions persist.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates and take steps to reduce exposure to unhealthy air, particularly during mornings and evenings when pollutants are concentrated. To stay safe, consider using air purifiers indoors and wearing masks outdoors if air quality worsens.
