Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan will experience a warm start to the week, with temperatures reaching near 80° today, but rain is expected to arrive by the weekend. Residents, especially along I-94 and I-75, should enjoy the sun through midweek before wet conditions return Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, Detroit will see highs of 81° today, with plenty of sunshine and mild conditions lasting through Tuesday. Winds from the southwest will keep temperatures unseasonably warm, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-50s. The warmth will continue into Wednesday, but changes are coming soon.

Showers are expected to move into the region late Thursday night, with rain likely on Friday and continuing into Saturday. Those planning outdoor activities this weekend should be prepared for wet conditions, as the rain may last through most of the day Friday. Cooler temperatures will also return, with highs dropping to the mid-60s by the weekend.

Drivers along I-94 and I-75 should be cautious of slick roads, especially during the Friday morning commute. Winds will also increase slightly, with gusts reaching up to 23 mph on Wednesday, ahead of the rain.

The weekend is shaping up to be cooler and wetter, so take advantage of the dry start to the week for any outdoor plans. Rain is expected to taper off by Sunday, leaving behind partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s.
