Albany, GA – Isolated afternoon thunderstorms and elevated rain chances are forecast across parts of Southwest Georgia and Southeast Alabama Thursday, bringing potential impacts to cities including Albany, Cuthbert, Dothan, and Tifton.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, the highest probability of precipitation will occur between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., with Cuthbert seeing up to a 60% chance of rain, followed closely by Albany at 56% and Tifton at 41%. Dothan, Alabama, is also expecting a 37% peak during this timeframe.

Temperatures will remain seasonally warm, with highs ranging from 86°F to 89°F across the region. Forecasters warn that isolated storms may produce strong, gusty winds and small hail. While widespread severe weather is not anticipated, a localized downpour cannot be ruled out.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local alerts and stay weather-aware during the late afternoon hours. Motorists should expect reduced visibility and potentially slick roads during peak storm periods. It is advisable to secure outdoor objects and postpone travel plans if storms develop.
