Corpus Christi, Texas – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across South Texas today, with the highest storm chances focused north of Interstate 37, particularly around Cotulla, Tilden, and Freer.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, the strongest rainfall and lightning activity will occur over the northern third of the region throughout Tuesday, with storm chances ranging from 20% to 50% depending on location. Cities like Laredo, which is expected to reach 91°F, could see isolated afternoon storms, while coastal areas like Rockport and Port Lavaca will stay slightly cooler in the low 80s with lower rain probabilities.

Drivers should watch for slick roads during evening commutes, especially along I-35 and U.S. 59. Residents are encouraged to secure loose outdoor items, avoid flooded roadways, and monitor alerts if thunderstorm warnings are issued.

The unsettled pattern continues into Wednesday, with rain chances persisting through midweek. By Friday, drier and slightly cooler air is expected to return, bringing more stable conditions heading into the weekend.

More storm chances could return early next week, so South Texas residents should stay weather-aware through Wednesday.
