Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texas will see a quick shift from midweek thunderstorms to intense weekend heat, with high temperatures in Corpus Christi expected to hit 100°F by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through Thursday, with rain chances between 30% and 40%. Daytime highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s through Friday, climbing sharply into the upper 90s and low 100s by the weekend.

The weather shift may impact outdoor plans and energy usage across Nueces, San Patricio, and Kleberg counties. Friday will see a brief drying trend with highs near 95°F, followed by a potential heat wave this weekend. Saturday and Sunday could bring highs of 97°F to 100°F, with overnight lows remaining humid in the mid-70s.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. While severe storms are not expected, brief downpours could impact local roads through Thursday.

Hot and dry conditions are expected to persist into early next week, with more heat advisories possible.
