Corpus Christi, TX – South Texans can expect scattered thunderstorms and an exciting celestial event on Tuesday night. The National Weather Service warns of possible thunderstorms across the Rio Grande Plains, potentially bringing rain to areas like Laredo and Beeville. At the same time, skies will clear in some areas to reveal a rare harvest supermoon eclipse.
According to the National Weather Service, the partial lunar eclipse will begin at 8:41 p.m. EDT. The peak will occur at 10:44 p.m., with the moon partially covered. Residents should prepare for thunderstorms and cloudy skies that could limit visibility.
Those along the coast are also advised to watch for low rip current risks and scattered showers, particularly in Rockport and Port Aransas. Plan your outdoor activities accordingly and avoid coastal waters during this time. The eclipse will last until 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, weather permitting.
