Miami, FL – Dangerous beach and marine conditions are expected across South Florida this weekend as rip currents, high surf, and strong winds persist through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, a high rip current risk remains in effect through at least Saturday evening, impacting all Atlantic-facing beaches, especially those near Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Boaters and beachgoers are urged to stay alert as hazardous marine conditions and rough surf develop due to strong easterly winds.

Friday afternoon and evening will bring breezy, partly cloudy skies with gusts reaching 28 mph. Saturday’s outlook includes a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m., with a high near 78°F. Wind gusts may reach up to 23 mph, keeping beaches dangerous and marine zones rough.

Fire weather concerns are also elevated in inland Collier and Monroe counties due to persistent dry conditions and low humidity values of 30-35%. Authorities advise caution with open flames or equipment that may spark.

Sunday remains warm with a high near 80°F, but showers and storms are likely throughout the day, especially between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Extended 5-Day Forecast for Miami:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, high near 82°F. Slight chance of afternoon showers.
  • Tuesday: Clear skies, highs near 83°F.
  • Wednesday: Sunny and dry, high around 82°F.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.
