South Florida – A warm, sunny Sunday brings temperatures in the low to mid-80s across South Florida, but coastal visitors are urged to exercise caution as dangerous rip currents remain a serious risk through Monday evening. Beaches in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are under a rip current alert. Swimmers are advised to stay close to lifeguard stations and avoid venturing too far from the shore.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami office, the high rip current risk is expected to last until Monday evening. These currents are powerful enough to pull even the strongest swimmers into deeper waters. The NWS advises swimmers caught in a rip current to remain calm, swim parallel to the shore, and seek help if necessary. Boaters and beachgoers should also stay informed about conditions, especially with breezy winds increasing wave activity.

Sunday’s forecast includes mostly sunny skies with a high of 81 degrees, with breezy northeast winds reaching up to 16 mph. As the week progresses, Monday will bring a slight chance of showers, accompanied by a high of 83 degrees. Winds will continue to intensify through Monday night, with gusts up to 24 mph, while temperatures dip to a low of 78 degrees.

The pattern will persist through midweek, with highs in the low 80s and occasional chances of showers. By Thursday, South Florida can expect mostly sunny skies with breezy conditions, maintaining the high-80s trend but with diminishing chances of precipitation.
