Miami, Florida – Isolated severe thunderstorms could bring strong gusty winds and hail to South Florida this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service has issued a marginal risk for severe weather, with the greatest impact expected across the Lake region and extending to the east coast metro areas, including Miami. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out with the strongest storms.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to develop throughout the afternoon and continue through the early evening. Areas along the east coast and across the Lake region are most at risk. Wind gusts could reach up to 58 mph, and hail is possible with the more intense storms.

In Miami, motorists are urged to exercise caution on the roads, particularly during rush hour when heavy rain could reduce visibility. Residents should secure loose outdoor items, as strong winds are anticipated. If a storm warning is issued, seek shelter indoors, away from windows.

This severe weather risk is expected to subside by evening, but residents should remain alert for further updates from the National Weather Service.
