Miami, FL – A cold snap is set to continue tonight, with South Florida residents bracing for chilly winds and dropping temperatures. Thursday morning could mark the coldest point of the week, with apparent temperatures dipping into the upper 30s in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami, tonight’s actual temperatures are expected to fall to the mid-40s across coastal regions and drop into the 30s near the Lake Region. Persistent winds will create a wind chill effect, making it feel even colder. Residents are advised to bundle up and protect pets, plants, and pipes from freezing conditions.

Thursday’s forecast includes sunny skies, but temperatures will peak at only 66°F. The north winds, with gusts as high as 21 mph, will keep conditions brisk throughout the day. By Thursday night, temperatures will fall again to the mid-50s, making layers essential.

Looking ahead, South Florida will gradually warm by the weekend, with highs nearing 79°F on Saturday. A 20% chance of light showers is forecast for Saturday afternoon, but the rest of the weekend will feature sunny, pleasant weather with highs in the low 70s.

Drivers along major roadways, including I-95 and U.S. Route 1, should remain alert for potential frost early Thursday morning. Plan extra travel time and check road conditions before heading out.
