Sioux Falls, S.D. – A stretch of sunny and cooler weather kicks off the week in South Dakota, but midweek rain could disrupt outdoor plans as temperatures gradually climb toward the 70s by Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, Tuesday brings highs between 59° and 63° under clear skies. Rain chances increase Wednesday and Thursday, with scattered showers likely during the day and highs warming into the upper 60s and low 70s. Breezy conditions are expected at times.

Cities like Brookings, Yankton, and Mitchell may see wet roads and slower commutes during the midweek rain window. Though no flooding is expected, occasional downpours could reduce visibility. Drivers should plan for extra travel time and check weather apps for radar updates before heading out.

Friday looks drier with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-60s, offering a short break from the showers. By Saturday, highs could reach 72°–79° with plenty of sun—perfect for spring events, yard work, or travel.

The warming trend continues into the weekend, with near to above-normal temperatures expected. More updates will follow if additional rain chances emerge or advisories are issued.
