Aberdeen, SD – A Red Flag Warning has been issued today for areas near and west of the Missouri River due to dry, windy conditions. Gusts exceeding 35 mph, combined with low humidity and above-normal temperatures, will create dangerous fire conditions throughout the afternoon and evening.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will peak in the 90s, with highs in Aberdeen expected to hit 87°F. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and to use extreme caution when handling any fire-prone materials. Fire danger will persist through Friday, with temperatures remaining in the 80s and 90s.
