San Antonio, Texas – South-Central Texas kicks off the week with triple-digit heat and breezy sunshine, while isolated thunderstorms may develop late Monday over the southern Edwards Plateau.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, highs will soar to 100°F in Del Rio and Eagle Pass, with mid to upper 90s across most other cities including Austin, San Antonio, and New Braunfels. The NWS advises that isolated storms could move into Langtry, Rocksprings, and surrounding areas after 4 p.m. Monday.
Rain chances remain low through Tuesday, but increase midweek. Wednesday brings a 30–40% chance of thunderstorms to the Hill Country, including Fredericksburg, Kerrville, and Llano. Though widespread severe weather isn’t expected, heavy downpours and gusty winds could affect rural roadways and delay afternoon travel.
Residents should limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and monitor local forecasts for potential updates. Those in western counties should be cautious of lightning and brief heavy rain if storms develop this evening.
Highs are expected to remain in the 90s all week, with another round of hotter, drier air moving in by Friday.
