Austin, TX – Drivers in South-Central Texas should prepare for dense fog and drizzle along the I-35 corridor today, creating reduced visibility during morning hours. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that visibility could drop to a quarter-mile or less in some areas, particularly in the Hill Country.
According to the NWS, Saturday will remain warm and damp with highs near 75°F. Patchy fog and light showers are expected to persist into the afternoon, with minimal clearing. Roads near major highways, including I-35 and U.S. Highway 290, may remain slick through the weekend, increasing the risk of travel delays. Commuters are encouraged to allow extra time and use low-beam headlights in foggy conditions.
Looking ahead, warm, muggy weather will dominate Sunday and Monday with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid-60s. Isolated thunderstorms may develop Monday afternoon, with rainfall totals expected to remain light. Winds will shift midweek as a cold front moves into the area on Wednesday, bringing cooler, drier conditions by Thursday. Highs will drop into the 60s, offering a refreshing end to the week.
No hazardous weather is expected beyond localized fog and light rain; however, drivers and outdoor enthusiasts should stay updated on changes. A return to sunny skies on Thursday will provide relief after days of cloudy, humid weather.
