San Antonio, TX – A storm system is expected to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms across South-Central Texas from Wednesday afternoon through early Friday morning, prompting weather alerts for several cities in the region.

According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio office, areas including San Antonio, Austin, Del Rio, and surrounding counties face a Level 2 (Slight) to Level 1 (Marginal) risk of heavy rainfall starting Wednesday, March 26, through the early hours of Friday, March 28. The forecast includes the potential for flash flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Localized flooding may impact roadways during peak commute hours, and residents are advised to monitor local alerts and avoid driving through flooded roads. Rainfall totals could vary, but isolated storms may produce intense downpours.

Emergency management teams recommend securing outdoor belongings, clearing storm drains, and having a flashlight and weather radio on hand. Schools and businesses should remain weather-aware in case of flash flood advisories or delays.

This system follows a relatively dry March for much of Texas, making saturated ground and drainage a concern for urban and rural areas alike. More updates will be issued as conditions evolve throughout the week.
