Austin, TX – A sunny and mild Sunday will kick off a mostly calm start to the week in Central Texas, but wet conditions could disrupt midweek commutes along I-35 and surrounding areas. High temperatures will stay in the mid-60s through Monday, while overnight lows dip into the 40s.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Sunday’s forecast calls for clear skies and highs near 68°F, with calm winds expected throughout the day. Monday will feature similar conditions with a slight warming trend, but increasing cloud cover Monday night signals a shift in the weather pattern.

By Tuesday afternoon, rain chances begin to rise, with a 20% likelihood of scattered showers. The probability grows to 40% Tuesday night and peaks at 50% on Wednesday, with showers and possible thunderstorms forecasted. Motorists along major routes like I-35 and Highway 290 should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility during commutes.

Thursday will see lingering chances of showers in the morning before skies begin to clear. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the low 70s by the end of the week, providing relief for outdoor plans heading into next weekend.

Residents should take advantage of the sunny conditions Sunday and Monday for holiday shopping or outdoor activities, as midweek rain could lead to minor disruptions. The NWS recommends staying updated on the latest forecasts and monitoring local alerts, especially for potential thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday.
