Austin, TX – Texans should prepare for an up-and-down weather pattern this week, starting with near-record warmth on Tuesday before cooler air arrives by Thanksgiving.

The National Weather Service in Austin predicts highs nearing 84 degrees Tuesday, with breezy southerly winds up to 25 mph adding to the warmth. A cold front will move through midweek, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures by Thanksgiving, where highs will only reach the mid-60s.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will see sunny skies and unseasonably warm conditions, with temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal. Residents traveling for the holidays, particularly on major roadways like I-35, should watch for gusty winds that could impact high-profile vehicles.

By Wednesday, the area remains sunny with highs near 84, but the overnight cold front will usher in cooler air, dropping lows to the 40s by Thanksgiving morning. Thanksgiving Day will bring a more fall-like feel, with highs of 65 and breezy conditions. The chilly trend continues Friday and Saturday, as morning lows dip into the low 40s and highs remain in the 60s.

Travelers and holiday planners should remain weather-aware, particularly as the breezy conditions Tuesday and Wednesday could pose challenges for outdoor activities. Stay updated through local forecasts to ensure safe holiday travel and events.
