Wichita, KS – Breezy weather and cooler temperatures are set to dominate South-Central Kansas this week, bringing a mix of sunshine and chilly nights. Residents should prepare for gusty winds and temperatures dipping below freezing in the evenings.

According to the National Weather Service, high temperatures on Wednesday are expected to reach 52 degrees, with winds from the northwest gusting up to 25 mph. Lows will plummet to around 30 degrees by nightfall. Those heading out early or late should dress warmly, as wind chills could make conditions feel even colder.

Looking ahead, Thursday will be another sunny day with highs around 49 degrees and clear skies into the evening, but lows will dip once more, reaching 30 degrees. By Friday, conditions will remain sunny, with highs near 52 degrees. Gusty breezes are expected to ease slightly heading into the weekend, though temperatures will stay cool.

Saturday brings a slight warm-up, with highs reaching 56 degrees and partly cloudy skies. While the weekend looks pleasant for outdoor activities, keep an eye on those evening temperatures, as lows will hover around the mid-30s.

For drivers, the brisk winds could impact visibility on open roadways, particularly along major routes such as I-135 or Highway 400. Exercise caution, especially during the evening hours when temperatures and visibility drop.
