South Carolina Weather: Cloudy Skies and Mild Temps Expected Through Monday

Columbia, SC – South Carolinians can expect a mix of mild temperatures and partly sunny skies heading into Monday, with a calm start to the workweek. Cooler mornings will dominate the region today, but highs will rise into the upper 50s by this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Columbia area will range between 45°F and 58°F on Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies persisting through tonight. Winds will remain light out of the northeast, providing calm but cool conditions overnight.

Heading into Monday, skies will clear slightly, giving way to partly sunny weather with highs climbing to a comfortable 67°F. Calm winds and dry conditions are expected to last through Monday night, with temperatures dipping to around 49°F.

Residents should prepare for a shift by midweek. Tuesday will start with mostly sunny skies and a high of 74°F, but rain showers may develop by Wednesday afternoon. The NWS forecasts a 40% chance of showers on Wednesday, rising to 50% overnight as cooler temperatures return to the region.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring relief with sunny skies and highs around 63°F, offering a break from the midweek rain. Morning commuters should remain alert for wet road conditions along major routes, including Interstate 26 and I-20, on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
