According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are expected to begin after 4 p.m. Thursday and may intensify into the evening, especially between 6 and 8 p.m. Rainfall totals may reach up to a half inch, with localized amounts nearing an inch during stronger cells. South Carolina Emergency Management advises residents to secure outdoor items and avoid flooded roadways, particularly along I-26 and U.S. 1.
