Spartanburg, SC – Gray clouds are thickening across the Upstate this Sunday morning, a visual cue that South Carolina’s next rainmaker is already on the way. The region is set for a damp start to the week as scattered showers and gusty northeast winds develop by early Monday — just before a much cooler and clearer stretch returns in time for Halloween festivities.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will turn cloudy with highs near 64°F as light winds shift east. Showers move in late tonight and continue through Monday, with rain chances peaking near 80%. A few pockets of heavier rain are possible during the morning and early afternoon, especially along I-85 between Greenville and Gaffney. Winds could gust up to 20 mph, making umbrellas a challenge for morning commuters.

By Tuesday, rain tapers to isolated sprinkles, though skies stay mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-50s. A second wave of lighter showers may brush the area Wednesday before conditions improve sharply Thursday. Sunshine and mild highs near 57°F will dominate the latter half of the week.

Halloween Friday looks nearly perfect — dry skies, light breezes, and comfortable evening temperatures around 55°F, ideal for trick-or-treaters and community events.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday bring sunny skies and highs around 61°F, marking a welcome break after the soggy start. Still, meteorologists say cooler air could return soon — an early hint of a chilly November ahead.
