According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, the warning spans northeast Georgia and Upstate South Carolina, including areas near I-85. Fire crews are urging residents to avoid any outdoor burning and to secure equipment that could spark flames. The warning may expire tonight, but elevated fire danger is expected to persist into the weekend.
