Spartanburg, SC – Rainy Thanksgiving morning conditions across South Carolina will give way to clearing skies and gusty winds later today, with cooler temperatures on the horizon. Travelers along I-85 should expect wet roads and reduced visibility early this morning as rain persists until mid-morning.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will taper off between 8 and 10 a.m., followed by gusty winds of up to 25 mph. By the afternoon, temperatures will reach a high of 65°F as sunshine gradually returns. Drivers are urged to exercise caution due to slick roads and potential wind gusts, particularly in open areas.
Friday will bring calmer weather, with sunny skies and a high of 54°F. Winds will subside to 5-8 mph, making for ideal conditions for Black Friday shopping or outdoor activities. Overnight lows will dip to 27°F, marking the start of a much cooler trend for the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday are forecast to remain sunny but cold, with highs of 51°F and lows dropping into the 20s. Those attending outdoor events should bundle up, as northerly winds will create a brisk feel.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures will climb slightly, with highs near 53°F by Wednesday. The clear weather offers a reprieve from today’s storms but requires preparation for significantly colder nights.
