Charleston, SC – Dangerous black ice conditions are expected to persist into Saturday morning, while warmer weather is forecast for Sunday. Authorities warn residents to remain cautious on roads as temperatures overnight will dip to the mid-20s, freezing any remaining moisture.
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, untreated surfaces, including bridges and overpasses, are likely to remain icy through the morning. Drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution to avoid accidents. However, by Sunday, sunny skies and highs in the low 50s are expected to melt much of the remaining ice.
The warming trend continues into next week, with highs reaching the 60s by Tuesday. Monday may bring scattered rain showers, particularly in the afternoon, but skies will clear again by Tuesday. Overnight lows will remain chilly, dipping into the low 30s to mid-40s.
Here’s an extended five-day forecast for Charleston:
• Saturday: Sunny, high 49°F. Low 32°F overnight, with icy roads likely in shaded areas.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 53°F. Low 36°F overnight.

• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 60°F. Low 48°F overnight.
