Charleston, SC – A flood warning remains in effect for the Santee River near Jamestown as water levels continue to rise, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.
As of Thursday at 8:30 p.m. EST, the river was at 11.9 feet, surpassing the flood stage of 10 feet. Officials expect it to crest at 11.9 feet early Friday morning. Minor flooding is already occurring, making several dirt logging roads impassable in the affected areas.
The flood warning will remain in effect until further notice, with authorities advising residents to monitor conditions closely. Travelers and those in low-lying areas should take precautions as additional rainfall could exacerbate flooding risks.
