Spartanburg, SC – A blast of Arctic air is set to grip South Carolina this week, bringing frigid temperatures, gusty winds, and a possible wintry mix. Residents should prepare for rapidly dropping temperatures and hazardous travel conditions by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be sunny with a high near 51°F, but colder air will arrive Tuesday night. By Wednesday, rain and snow showers are likely, with highs only reaching 39°F. Winds will increase, making conditions feel even colder.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until early Sunday morning, and a Wind Advisory will be active from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Gusts up to 45 mph could lead to power outages and hazardous driving conditions, especially on I-85 and surrounding roadways.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday will remain cold, with highs in the low 40s and overnight lows dipping into the 20s. Those traveling should remain alert for icy patches, especially early in the mornings.

Officials urge residents to dress in layers, keep emergency kits in vehicles, and monitor local forecasts for potential winter storm developments by midweek.
