Shreveport, LA — A winter weather advisory has been issued for portions of north-central and northwest Louisiana and east Texas, where snow is expected to create hazardous conditions.

The National Weather Service reported that the advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Areas including Pleasant Hill, Natchitoches, Jena, Lufkin, and Mansfield could see snow accumulations of up to one inch.

According to the advisory, roads, especially bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slick and hazardous. Travelers are urged to slow down and use caution, particularly during the Tuesday morning commute.

Residents are advised to monitor the latest road conditions by calling 511 and to prepare for icy surfaces on sidewalks, stairs, and driveways, which could increase the risk of falls and injuries.

Temperatures are expected to remain near freezing, increasing the likelihood of icy patches. Authorities recommend avoiding unnecessary travel if conditions worsen overnight.

Stay informed by following updates from local weather services and exercise caution while driving in affected areas.
