Mount Holly, NJ – A winter weather advisory will go into effect tonight at 10 p.m. for Mount Holly and nearby areas, with snowfall expected to create hazardous road conditions. Residents are urged to plan ahead for slippery roads and reduced visibility through Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to begin after 3 a.m., accumulating up to two inches. The advisory will remain active until 1 p.m. Saturday. Light winds and sub-freezing temperatures will increase the likelihood of icy surfaces, especially on bridges, overpasses, and lesser-traveled roads.

Saturday’s forecast includes lingering snow showers early in the morning before skies gradually clear by the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high near 35 degrees, with winds shifting to the northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Drivers should proceed cautiously, reducing speeds and allowing extra time for travel.

Looking ahead, Sunday will bring clear skies and a high near 40 degrees, offering a respite from wintry conditions. Nighttime lows will dip into the low 20s, leading to potentially icy conditions Monday morning. Monday and Tuesday are expected to remain sunny, with highs in the low 40s and low 30s, respectively.

Residents should monitor updates and check local road conditions by dialing 511. Slow down, stay alert, and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle when traveling.
