Great Falls, MT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of central and western Montana until Monday morning, with snow expected to impact travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, areas including Great Falls, Helena, Gallatin Valley, and parts of the Big Belt Mountains could see additional snow accumulations ranging from 1 to 4 inches. Higher elevations, such as ridge tops, may receive up to 8 inches. The advisory extends until 11 a.m. Monday for some regions.
Residents should anticipate slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially in mountain passes such as Bozeman Pass, Chief Joseph Pass, and MacDonald Pass. Authorities urge drivers to slow down and exercise caution when traveling. Updates on road conditions can be accessed by calling 511 or visiting the Montana Department of Transportation’s Road Report website.
Local officials encourage preparedness by ensuring vehicles are equipped with winter survival kits and checking weather forecasts before heading out.
