Charleston, WV – West Virginia residents should prepare for snowy and hazardous conditions through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday for areas including Upshur, Barbour, and Randolph counties. Forecasts predict 2 to 4 inches of snow, with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph. Residents in affected areas, such as Elkins, Buckhannon, and Snowshoe, should expect slippery roads and reduced visibility.
According to the NWS, hazardous conditions may disrupt Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Bridges and overpasses will likely become icy, increasing the risk of accidents. Travelers are advised to slow down and exercise caution while driving.
