Quad Cities, IA – Snowfall across parts of southeast Iowa, northeast Missouri, and west central Illinois is causing slick conditions on roads, particularly south of Interstate 80.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the area will see snow continue through mid-afternoon Thursday, with rates of up to 1 inch in two hours possible. Total snow accumulations are expected to range from half an inch to over 2 inches, with the heaviest amounts near the U.S. Highway 24 corridor.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, maintain increased following distances, and exercise caution on slick roads.
The NWS warns that if snowfall rates intensify, a Winter Weather Advisory could be issued later in the day.
