San Francisco, CA – The Bay Area is facing severe weather through Monday as heavy rain, high winds, and King Tides pose significant risks to residents and travelers. A Coastal Flood Advisory is active until 1 p.m. Monday, with minor flooding possible in low-lying areas near the San Francisco Bay during high tide.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain began overnight and is expected to continue intermittently throughout the weekend. Winds of up to 60 mph are expected until Saturday morning, creating a risk of downed trees and power outages. Travelers are advised to avoid flooded roadways and drive cautiously as conditions worsen.

High surf conditions with waves between 18 to 22 feet are forecast along the coast, making swimming and surfing extremely dangerous. Residents in areas prone to flooding should secure loose items and prepare for potential property damage.

Looking ahead, scattered showers may linger on Sunday, but calmer conditions are expected to return by Tuesday. Daytime highs will hover around the upper 50s through the week, with mostly sunny skies on Wednesday and Thursday.

Those in affected areas are urged to monitor updates from local authorities and take precautions, including avoiding non-essential travel during peak storm conditions.
