Page County, IA – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Omaha issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Page County, Iowa. This warning is in effect until 2:15 p.m. CDT today as storms approach from the southwest.
According to the NWS, the storm was located near Blanchard at 1:29 p.m. CDT, moving northeast at 65 mph. With winds up to 70 mph and quarter-size hail, the storm poses a serious risk to residents. NWS radar indicates the storm is expected to impact areas including Clarinda, College Springs, Coin, Shambaugh, Braddyville, Blanchard, and Northboro.
Residents are warned of possible hail damage to vehicles and significant wind damage to trees, mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. The NWS advises moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building to stay safe.
