Fort Worth, TX – A severe weather system is expected to hit North Texas midweek, potentially disrupting Halloween plans and increasing risks for high winds, hail, and isolated flooding. Residents along Interstate 20 and north of the highway should prepare for potential thunderstorms late Wednesday into Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, this weather front brings significant risks, including severe thunderstorms, primarily for areas north of I-20. With gusty conditions anticipated throughout the day, residents are urged to secure outdoor items and ensure they have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, especially with potential tornado threats overnight Wednesday.

Extended Forecast Through the Weekend

Today (Tuesday), Fort Worth can expect breezy, cloudy conditions with temperatures reaching the mid-80s by afternoon. A few light showers are possible, but mostly warm and partly sunny skies will prevail. Overnight, low clouds will return, with temperatures dipping to 72°F.

By Wednesday, thunderstorm chances increase as temperatures climb to a high of 86°F. Storms are expected to intensify in the evening, lasting into early Thursday. Heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds are forecasted, so those traveling or planning evening activities should remain vigilant.

Halloween Trick-or-Treaters will see pleasant temperatures in the 60s across Fort Worth, Waco, and surrounding areas, though lingering clouds are expected after storms clear Thursday morning. Mostly clear skies and cooler weather will follow, making Halloween night ideal for outdoor activities post-storm.

Friday will bring partly sunny conditions with a high near 75°F, while weekend showers are expected to return Saturday. Heavy rainfall may develop, with potential flooding in areas north of I-20 and the Texoma region, especially Saturday night into Sunday.
