Wilmington, OH – The Ohio Valley is bracing for severe thunderstorms expected to bring damaging winds this afternoon and evening. The storm system, currently over Iowa, is moving southeast and will impact the region starting around 2 PM.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, warm and humid conditions will contribute to the intensity of the storms. Temperatures are forecasted to reach into the 90s, creating an environment conducive to strong wind gusts. The leading edge of the severe weather is predicted to affect areas west of Interstate 75 from 2 to 4 PM, moving east to US 23 between 4 to 6 PM.

For the remainder of the week, temperatures in Wilmington are expected to stay high, with thunderstorms continuing into Thursday and Friday, each carrying a 50% chance of rain. Highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s through Thursday, cooling slightly to the mid-80s by Friday. The weekend will see continued chances of rain, with temperatures in the lower 80s on Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday.
