Northwestern Alabama – Northwestern Alabama is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 PM Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued the alert due to the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

According to the NWS, wind gusts may reach up to 70 mph, and hailstones could grow as large as 1.5 inches in diameter. The storm system affects a wide area, covering 60 miles east and west of a line extending from Cincinnati, OH, to Nashville, TN.

Alabama residents in the watch area should monitor local weather updates and be ready to take shelter if conditions worsen. Strong winds could down trees and power lines, while large hail may cause property damage. The threat of tornadoes adds urgency to staying informed as severe weather moves through the region. Residents should take precautions and remain alert throughout the evening as storms persist.
