Central and Eastern Kentucky – A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Central and Eastern Kentucky until 7 PM Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the alert due to the threat of damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.
According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, wind gusts could reach 70 mph in some areas, with hail as large as 1.5 inches in diameter. There is also a chance of one or two tornadoes developing in the region. The watch area covers locations within 60 miles east and west of a line extending from Cincinnati to Nashville.
The NWS urges Kentucky residents to stay alert as storms move through. Keep an eye on weather updates and be ready to take shelter if necessary. Power outages are possible due to high winds, and hail could cause property damage. The storm system is expected to continue into the evening, so residents should remain cautious and prepared for severe weather conditions.
