Lansing, Mich. – Strong storms could roll across Mid-Michigan Monday evening, with severe thunderstorm warnings in place for multiple counties, including Lansing and Jackson, until 10 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, Severe Thunderstorm Watch 402 remains active for Clinton, Ingham, Jackson, and Gratiot counties through 10 p.m. Monday. Residents in cities like East Lansing, St. Johns, and Alma may experience damaging winds, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.

Localized flooding and scattered power outages are possible, especially along roadways such as I-69, US-127, and I-94. Emergency officials urge residents to secure loose outdoor items, avoid travel during storm bursts, and charge devices in case of outages.

This is the first significant thunderstorm watch of June for the region. Jackson and Lansing schools have not announced delays, but evening sports and activities may face disruptions.

The watch remains in effect through 10 p.m., and additional warnings could be issued if storm cells intensify. Stay tuned to local alerts and NOAA weather radio for real-time updates.
