San Angelo, TX – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for multiple counties across Central and South-Central Texas early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued the watch, which will remain valid until 5 AM CDT.

The watch area includes 5 counties in West Central Texas: Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, and San Saba. In South-Central Texas, the watch spans 17 counties, including Bexar, Travis, Hays, Medina, and Williamson. These areas are expected to experience potentially severe thunderstorms, with large hail, heavy rainfall, and strong winds being the primary concerns.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm system will impact cities such as San Antonio, Austin, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, and Uvalde. Residents are advised to stay alert for rapidly changing weather conditions.

While the storm is expected to taper off by 5 AM, it could cause localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions, particularly along rural roads. The NWS recommends staying indoors during the storm and avoiding travel when possible. If you are in a vehicle and encounter a storm, it is advised to pull over safely and remain inside until conditions improve.
