Little Rock, AR – Residents in Arkansas and Louisiana are bracing for a major severe weather outbreak today, with tornadoes, high winds, and large hail predicted to cause widespread disruptions. The most affected areas include regions along I-20 and central Mississippi. Forecasters warn that some tornadoes could reach EF3 strength or higher.

According to the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, storms are expected to develop in the early morning across northern Texas and intensify as they move eastward through the afternoon. Eastern Texas, western Louisiana, and parts of Mississippi face the highest risk into the evening. Overnight, storms will extend into Alabama, bringing damaging winds and flash flood potential.

Safety officials are urging residents to stay updated on weather alerts and have multiple ways to receive warnings. “Tornado risks overnight are especially dangerous. Have a safe shelter ready,” the National Weather Service advised.
