Tulsa, OK – Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas late Tuesday afternoon through the night, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. The storm system is forecast to bring large hail and damaging winds, with the greatest risk in eastern Oklahoma.
According to the NWS, storm chances will rise in the afternoon and persist into the overnight hours. Large hail is the primary severe threat, followed by locally strong winds. Areas including Tulsa, Muskogee, and Fayetteville are under a severe weather watch until at least 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Severe storm chances expand across northwest Arkansas as well, with heavy rainfall anticipated.
