Memphis, TN – Strong winds and the potential for severe storms will create hazardous conditions across Tennessee today, especially near Interstate 40. A Wind Advisory remains active from 9 a.m. to midnight, warning of gusts up to 45 mph. This comes alongside a Severe Thunderstorm Risk, which peaks from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Memphis, scattered severe storms could bring damaging winds, quarter-sized hail, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Residents should secure loose outdoor items and stay updated through reliable weather alerts. Drivers should exercise caution on highways, especially along I-40, due to strong crosswinds.

A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for areas north of Memphis, with freezing rain expected overnight. Temperatures will drop sharply into the 20s by Monday morning, creating the potential for icy roads during the early commute.

Looking ahead, Monday will see partly cloudy skies and highs near 33°F, but breezy conditions will persist. By midweek, Memphis can expect sunny skies and daytime highs in the low 30s, with nighttime temperatures dipping into the low 20s.

Residents are encouraged to monitor conditions throughout the day and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Preparation is key, as power outages and hazardous driving conditions may develop.
