Green Bay, Wis. – Strong storms and widespread soaking rain could impact eastern Wisconsin from 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday morning, triggering flooding concerns, power outages, and beach hazards.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, north-central and east-central Wisconsin may see over 1 inch of rainfall, with the heaviest amounts falling overnight into Tuesday. Damaging wind gusts and frequent lightning are the primary storm risks, especially in urban and low-lying areas. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from 5 p.m. Monday through 1 a.m. Wednesday due to dangerous swimming conditions along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Communities including Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, and Sheboygan are most at risk for ponding on roads, brief power outages, and reduced visibility. The NWS also warns of wildfire smoke drifting from Canada, which will continue to produce hazy skies and potentially worsen respiratory conditions.

Fire weather conditions may briefly elevate Monday afternoon in north-central counties due to low humidity and warm temps before storms move in. Residents should avoid swimming at unguarded beaches, secure loose outdoor items, and monitor alerts closely through Wednesday.
